New Home

Hello everyone! We are moving! No not the studio…….no not our home…..although it’s pretty cold (it’s like 20 outside right now) these days and somewhere warm might be nice. We are moving the blog!! It has a new home and a couple of new features like a twitter feed – I know scary. The new blog is now located at

www.studio280photography.com

So if you have an RSS feed or you are subscribing by email you may want to update your feed or switch it to the new site. Along with this new site we also be trying to give you updates more frequently along other new features. Stay tuned for more exciting news – but you have to go to the new site to see it – it won’t be here anymore – this will be old news (don’t worry I moved the recent posts for everyone). Oh and let me know what you like or don’t like about the new site.

Thanks for following!

Falmouth Road Race 08.09.09

Well after two back to back weddings I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it to the start line on Sunday morning. Bright skies and cool dry air helped get me going that and knowing if I didn’t make it I would be breaking my streak…..this was to be number 5 in a row! It’s one of my favorite races of the year. This time I was going to be sans a few friends that I had run the race before……they didn’t get a number this time, but Kelli and the girls were at their usual spot cheering me on.

Right before the race began I actually ran into Anne & Dan (Wedding from June) they were running the race too! It was great to see them and have someone to chat with before they fired the cannon.

Here is a pic I took with my iPhone of my view of Woods Hole as I walked to the start. Check out the cool video of the race at www.falmouthroadrace.com

Phoenix 01.10.09

I arrived in Tempe Friday night to hang out with my cousin Janette for a day or so before my next conference. The last time I saw Janette I think we were at the Daytona 500 a few years ago. This trip was really special cause I got to meet one of the newest members of our family her son Austin. He is well on his way of becoming the ladies man. I some how talked Janette into doing a 5K race with me the next morning. I ended up actually placing 30th overall and winning my age group – and yes there where actually others in my age group……..ha! My legs were still sore from my hike a few days before but the air was dry and cool……perfect running weather. Later that day we ventured out on another hike this time to check out the Phoenix skyline.

Thanks Janette for an awesome time!

Awesome. Just heard today she is on the plane to China! Go Jenny! She came from behind to out kick Willard in the last lap and beat her by just .01 sec – wow!! She broke the old record (held by Willard by 5 secs)

Jenny is Olympic Bound!!

In case you missed it  Jenny Barringer qualified by finishing 3rd in the finals of the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase on July 3rd. She lead almost the entire race at record pace before fading with less than a lap to go. The winner actually set a new American record in the process. I was on the edge of my seat the whole race – actually I was standing the whole race nervous as hell. My friend Jay (jenny’s HS coach) was in Eugene for the trials to share in the experience. She will compete in the opening round of Track & Field events on August 15th in China!
